Radha-Krishna

To Him whose name is not without Radha,
She prayed to Him, Oh Lord!
Let my name never be without my Krishna ...
To Him who blessed Radha with His love
Because Radha loved Him enough
She prayed to Him, Oh Lord!
Give my Krishna a chance to bless me ...
Radha is known to have been one of the biggest devotee/lover of Lord Krishna. Krishna blessed Radha saying that even though He would be married to Rukmani, it would always be Radha whose name would be linked with Krishna.

What is it that I see?

What is it that I see?
A bright streak -
Is it light or just
Another blank hope ...
A hope into nothingness
Will it pass by like others?
Will He lighten up the tunnel?
Is it water or just
An enacting mirage ...
A mirage full of love
Will it vanish like others?
Will He leave the oasis for me?
What is it that I see?
Is it God or just
The Devil's wing
A wing to carry me ...
Will it be able to lift my burden?
Will His World be as burdened?

When in doubt trust Him... A friend who didn't believe in Him said that to me. I wondered why... Will He do anything at all? Is he capable?

bahut diya dene waale ne....
anchal dena bhul gaya
ya shayad yad raha tha usko
jaan ke nahi diya ki
aanchal ka woh kya karega
jisse 'bahut' ki talash nahi
woh 'kuch' jo mangta hai koi
woh aankho mein hi samaa jaata hai.
....aanchal ka main kya karun?
ya jholi se bhi ab kya hoga..??
ek chadar buni thi sapno ki...
chura le gaya wohi...
tumhara 'sab kuch' dene vaala....
ab bas aankhe band kare hi khoj raha hoon
kahin uska chehra bhi na chin jaaye meri palkon se...

let the curtains be brought down..

Are you lonesome tonight
do you miss me tonight
Are you sorry we drifted apart
Does your memory stray to a bright sunny day
When I kissed you and called you sweetheart
Do the chairs in your parlor seem empty and bare
Do you gaze at your doorstep and picture me there
Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again
Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight
Spoken:
I wonder if you're lonesome tonight
You know someone said that the world's a stage
And each must play a part
Fate had me playing in love you as my sweet heart
Act one was when we met, I loved you at first glance
You read your line so cleverly and never missed a cue
Then came act two, you seemed to change and you acted strange
And why I'll never know
Honey, you lied when you said you loved me
And I had no cause to doubt you
But I'd rather go on hearing your lies
Than go on living without you
Now the stage is bare and I'm standing there
With emptiness all around
And if you won't come back to me
Then they can bring the curtain down

Is your heart filled with pain, shall I come back again
Tell me dear, are you lonesome tonight

odd choice for someone who doesnt believe in romanticism. for some one who has meant to be silent about all that pain. but the only thing is that over and above all the laughter... when night falls. his smell envelopes me. his touch wakes me up from deep sleep. his heartbeats shake me out of the drunkenness.
they can bring the curtain down. he wont ever come back to me. he wont ever touch me or smile into my eyes...some memories just dont fade..like oil stains on your best silk. they wont go ...no matter what you

Maheshwar part 3

It may seem that 5 in the morning is hardly anytime to write a blog post on a travel taken 3 months ago...but well one reason im writing this is that i want to keep that memory down somewhere... the purpose of this visit was (as supposedly mentioned earlier) to learn the process of how the renown maheshwar fabric is woven.... i guess i would not be adding on to the already existing information about how now, this fabric is essentially suppoed to be a sheer cotton fabric but now has evolved into a silk warp^ and cotton/ silk weft* fabric. the fabric itself is so sheer that even after four layers one can see through it. mostly plain but has amazing motifs woven on the border with golden zari. the looms are all handlooms (frankly powerlooms wont be able to produce such finesse in design) which keeps the craft alive and most of the population of this town too. some ngo-s hav been working since the last 37 odd years to keep the tradition in its true form. mp tourism is not doing any less. (rhewa foundation being the pioneer)

the beauty of the fabric lies in its crispness and fall which truly is amazing. we visited the loom while it was being set. the warp is set first where the whole yardage, in our case it was 2.5 X 7 +3.5 X 7 meters, is first put on the loom then the weft is shuttled (as hindu puts it khatl-khatl of the shuttle)
